Second Annual Native American Diabetes & Wound Care Conference

Our dedication to wound healing started as a small discussion at our Annual Health Care Conference. We received such tremendous feedback that we decided to host an event dedicated to improving the state of wound treatment in Indian Country. Last year’s inaugural event was a huge success and we are proud to announce our Second Annual Native American Diabetes & Wound Care Conference.  This event will take place June 10-11, 2013 at the famous La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, California. Diabetes is the second-leading cause of death in Native Americans and part of that is because of improper wound treatment. Diabetic wounds, when left untreated, can lead to loss of limbs and eventually life. Amputations are extremely expensive and can lead to a rapid decline in overall health. This year’s conference will discuss the prevention and treatment of diabetes as well as the proper techniques for treating wounds.
